NEW HAVEN TOWN BOARD MEETING

HELD MAY 21, 2019

 

CALL TO ORDER

Supervisor Timothy Teifke called the monthly meeting for May 21, 2019 to order at 6:00 p.m. at the New Haven Town Hall. Roll call: Councilman Dan Barney, Councilwoman Mary Curcio, Councilwoman Patricia Prosser, Councilman William Rombough, and Supervisor Timothy Teifke present. Motion by Patricia Prosser, second by Dan Barney, to accept the minutes as presented. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

 

AUDIT OF TOWN BILLS

General bills: vouchers # 127-155, totaling $ 43,255.79, were duly audited.

Highway bills: vouchers #52-69, totaling $ 18,523.93, were duly audited.

Street Lighting bill: voucher #134, totaling $ 324.57, was duly audited.

WSA # 9: voucher # 3, totaling $ 165.00, was duly audited.

Motion by Dan Barney, second by Mary Curcio, to accept the bills as presented and to authorize their payment. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

 

OLD BUSINESS

Scriba Water Billing : Tabled

Harassment Training: Tabled

 

NEW BUSINESS

Water District Update: Jay Berkman read the attached report on the progress on Water Service Area #8 and Water District #9.

Water for Keefe Rd: The possibility of putting water on the Keefe Rd was discussed Jay Berkman was asked to provide an estimate of the cost.

Public Hearing on WSA#9: Motion by Dan Barney, second by William Rombough, to reschedule the public hearing on Proposed Water Service Area #9 to June 11th at 5:00 PM due to the paper not publishing the legal notice in time. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

Loan Resolution WSA # 9: Motion by Dan Barney, second by Mary Curcio, to accept the attached loan resolution for Water Service Area #9. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

Computer Equipment Motion by Mary Curcio, second by Patricia Prosser, to accept the proposal of Computer Outlet North to upgrade the Town’s computer system and provide secure data storage. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried.

Budget & Accountant Consultant Resignation: Mark See has resigned as budget and accountant consultant. The town clerk will send an email to the other towns inquiring about who they use.

Fire Department Contract: The fire chief will be asked to attend the next meeting to do a presentation.

CEO Contract: Motion by William Rombough, second by Dan Barney, to enter into executive session at 6:41 to discuss strategy for negotiating the contract with the Town of Mexico for the Code Enforcement Officer. Dan Barney, Aye; Mary Curcio, Aye; Patricia Prosser, Aye; William Rombough, Aye; Timothy Teifke, Aye; Carried. Motion by Dan Barney, second by William Rombough, to come out of executive session and reenter regular session at 7:32. Reports: Assessors, Code Enforcement Officer, Dog Control Officer, Town Clerk, and Supervisor reports to be posted.
